Laser Hair Removal Pre-Treatment Instructions
To ensure safe, effective treatment and optimal results, please follow these guidelines:
Sun Exposure
Avoid direct sun exposure and tanning beds for 2 weeks prior to treatment.
No self-tanner for 2 weeks prior.
Use SPF 30+ daily on treated areas.
Skin must not be sunburned or actively tanned.
(Even with sunscreen, intentional sun exposure increases burn risk.)

Do NOT wax, pluck, thread, or use depilatory creams for 4 weeks prior.
Hair must be present in the follicle for the laser to work effectively.

⏳ What to Expect
Mild redness and warmth are normal for 24–48 hours.
Hair shedding typically occurs within 1–3 weeks.
Multiple sessions (usually 6–8+) are required for optimal reduction.
Comfort Measures
Laser hair removal treatments are generally well tolerated. Sensations are often described as a brief snapping or warming feeling.
To enhance comfort:
Acetaminophen (Tylenol) 500–1,000 mg may be taken 30–60 minutes prior to your appointment, unless contraindicated.
Avoid aspirin and caffeine 4-6 hours before treatment.
Ibuprofen may be taken if normally tolerated; however, acetaminophen is preferred.
Cooling measures (integrated device cooling and/or cold compresses) will be used as appropriate.
Treatment settings may be adjusted for patient comfort while maintaining clinical effectiveness.
Ice pack prior to treatment is available if appropriate.
If you have a low pain tolerance, a history of heightened sensitivity, or anxiety regarding treatment, please notify us in advance so we can discuss appropriate options.
