Laser Hair Removal Post-Treatment Instructions
Mild redness, warmth, and slight swelling around hair follicles (perifollicular edema) are normal and typically resolve within 24–48 hours.
First 24–48 Hours
Calm & Protect
Apply a cool compress as needed (10 minutes at a time).
Aloe vera or a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer may be applied.
Avoid hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, and hot tubs.
Avoid strenuous exercise that causes heavy sweating for 24 hours.
Sun Protection - Sun exposure increases risk of pigmentation changes.
Avoid direct sun exposure for 2 weeks.
Apply SPF 30+ daily to treated areas.
Do not use tanning beds or self-tanner between sessions.
Skincare Products - Use gentle cleansers and moisturizers only.
For 3–5 days avoid:
Retinoids (tretinoin, adapalene)
Glycolic/salicylic acids
Benzoyl peroxide
Exfoliants or scrubs
Chemical peels
Hair Shedding & Grooming - Shedding is not regrowth — it is treated hair releasing.
Treated hairs will begin shedding in 1–3 weeks.
You may shave as needed.
Do NOT wax, pluck, or thread between treatments.
When to Contact Us
Notify us if you experience:
Blistering
Persistent swelling beyond 48 hours
Severe pain
Signs of infection
Unusual pigmentation changes
Treatment Series
Optimal reduction requires multiple sessions (typically 6–8+), spaced according to the hair growth cycle.
Consistency improves results.
