Laser Hair Removal Post-Treatment Instructions

Mild redness, warmth, and slight swelling around hair follicles (perifollicular edema) are normal and typically resolve within 24–48 hours.

First 24–48 Hours

Calm & Protect

  • Apply a cool compress as needed (10 minutes at a time).

  • Aloe vera or a gentle, fragrance-free moisturizer may be applied.

  • Avoid hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, and hot tubs.

  • Avoid strenuous exercise that causes heavy sweating for 24 hours.

Sun Protection - Sun exposure increases risk of pigmentation changes.

  • Avoid direct sun exposure for 2 weeks.

  • Apply SPF 30+ daily to treated areas.

  • Do not use tanning beds or self-tanner between sessions.

Skincare Products - Use gentle cleansers and moisturizers only.

  • Retinoids (tretinoin, adapalene)

  • Glycolic/salicylic acids

  • Benzoyl peroxide

  • Exfoliants or scrubs
